Hi, I'm Alex!

I'm an entrepreneur, designer, software developer, obsessive traveler, former BS / MS Computer Science student at Stanford University, and Founder & CEO of Amori.

I moved to the US from Israel when I was nine. I've worked as a Technical Product Manager at Facebook and Apple, where I built cloud allocation tools for Facebook, and shipped a Siri feature to show Wikipedia facts in iOS Spotlight.

I am fascinated by innovations in AI, human-computer interaction, language learning (am quanti-lingual), entrepreneurship, marketing, and design. I have an obsession with user-facing products, and am particularly interested in fostering social connections, empowering women, and bridging cultures through technology.

Care-It

I built this iOS app in collaboration with Stanford's School of Medicine for patients with terminal illnesses, helping them digitally prepare advanced health directives and record final wishes by video. Currently being tested by Stanford doctors with real patients!

My project was published in The Stanford Daily and chosen as one of the top 6 final projects (of ~50) to present to 125 students. Also presented to Stanford's administration to improve Stanford's remote teaching policies.

RealTalk: Campus Chat

Read my team's research paper for this anonymous social media app, similar to Yik Yak, which we developed and distributed to 30+ users for an 11-day field study.

Smooch: The Lipstick App

This was my first iOS app, built in my free time -- it reached #13 on the App Store Shopping category top charts, with 1K+ units and 80K+ impressions to date. Click to watch a demo.

Armoir: Find That Missing Piece

Wanderwell: A Lean Launchpad Project (Stanford GSB)

My team ran 100 interviews in 10 weeks to develop the perfect travel recommendation site, and learned lean startup methodology / pitched to VCs every week. Watch our video!

RBA2: Confronting the Language Gap

Cover Up

Cover Up is a game that teaches players the American Sign Language alphabet using rules similar to the card game BS. Our project won the "Best Serious Game" award at Stanford's Game Showcase. Click to learn more and see the cards I designed!

Swipe Off

I created this card game for a group project to help players reflect on gender stereotypes and double standards in dating. For card content and the card designs I made, see Slides 38-42.

Impact of Dating App Usage on Face-to-Face Romantic Pursuits

For this paper, I won Stanford's "Psychology Scholar" award, given to 7 of 250 students in the class for "extraodinary preparation, passion, and ingenuity." Click to read!
